Dr. Assuntina Sacco is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of California, San Diego, where she also serves as the Medical Director for Infusion Services at Moores Cancer Center. Dr. Sacco is a board-certified medical oncologist specializing in the diagnosis and management of head and neck cancers. She graduated from Loyola Stritch School of Medicine followed by Internal Medicine residency training at Loyola University Medical Center. She completed Hematology-Oncology fellowship training at the University of Michigan. Dr. Sacco’s research interests relate to head and neck cancer care delivery and cancer survivorship. She also designs and conducts clinical trials involving novel therapeutics and immunotherapies. Dr. Sacco has presented her work at national and international meetings, and has published in multiple high-impact journals, such as Lancet Oncology, Journal of Clinical Oncology and Clinical Cancer Research.
