Professor of Medicine, University of Washington
Dr. Renato Martins is a Professor of Medicine, and holds the Stephen H. Petersdorf Endowed Chair in Cancer Care, at the University of Washington. He is currently the Associate Medical Director of Solid Tumor Adult Oncology, and the Clinical Research Director of the Thoracic and Head and Neck Oncology Program at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, as well as a Full Member of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. After completing medical school in Rio, Brazil, Dr. Martins came to the United States for further training. He completed his fellowship in hematology/oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School while also earning a Master degree in Public Health at Harvard. Dr. Martins has been with the FHCRC/SCCA/University of Washington since 2004. His research interests are in the area of immunotherapy, targeted therapies for lung cancer and value in oncology care.
